The Straducale is a route that follows the same route as a race called "Prestigio". This route is for advanced cyclist who wants a taste of the Giro d'Italia as parts of this route is used during the race.
With a total length of 179km or 112miles and an elevation change of 4600 meters this route is one of the most challenging but also most rewarding ones.
The race that features this route is called the "Marathon of the Dolomites". Once you pass through the beautiful town of Urbino and a small climb Fagnacci we follow the road to the climb of Rocca Leonella.
Our first serious climb after 54km is Mount Petrano. The route until our first climb was fairly flat with some smaller hills to warm up. Mount Petrano is technically more challenging as it features numerous switchbacks and sometimes steep climbs. After the first 5km of tough climbing we have the hardest part behind us as we reach the summit at 1160 meters. |

| Some parts of the road can be challenging due to its bumpy pavement. Our goal is to hold a steady pace to ride as energy efficient as possible. After the Monte Catria climb we descend from the Chiaserna side with our final climb ahead of us. Monte Nerone is 13.5 km long with an average slope of 8% and a max slope of 14% with the summit at 1400 meters. After we conquered the three toughest climbs from today’s route we are descending to Urbania and back to our starting point in Urbino. Today’s route is truly an accomplishment as we followed the roads that wrote Giro d'Italia history.
