Aluminum and carbon are the two materials most frequently used in the production of racing and mountain bikes.

Battaglin uses the most advanced concepts from a dedicated team of industry-leading product engineers, industrial designers and, of course, professional racers, in order to maximize the utilization of both materials. In recent years carbon-fiber has demonstrated its superiority in ultralight racing bikes because of its stiffness, greater comfort and lighter weight than aluminum. Above all, carbon can unite different characteristics in a single frame because there are different types of carbon-fiber with varying degrees of rigidity, stability and flexibility.

The superior strength and versatility of carbon-fiber have made this material of choice for the highest quality frames. Battaglin uses different categories and types Toray carbon-fiber, depending on the specific requirements of the frame or individual components.

Our frames are made of carbon-fiber impregnated with our specially formulated epoxy resin laminated in aluminum molds and heat-treated under pressure under carefully controlled temperatures in order to form durable and lightweight monocoque structure free of voids and discontinuities.

Our monocoque frames do not use lugs that inevitably weaken and lead to frame failure. Important joints are overlapped and vary in thickness according to the areas that are subject to greater torsion and vibration (the bottom bracket and head tube). This type of construction ensures maximum stiffness, power transfer and responsive handling.

Efficient utilization of materials is the best way ensure the most lightweight, durable carbon frame possible. Battaglin's use of composite molding technology and quality control in every phase of production is why each and every bicycle is a custom work of art, a finely calibrated individualized bicycle that is stronger, lighter, stiffer and flawless, ready to be ridden on or off-road.

Painting is the finishing touch that fulfills the double task of giving the frame personality and protecting it from wear and tear. At Battaglin Cycles this is done at our modern facility using completely non-toxic, eco-friendly water-based paint and solvents.
